Liberty Gate Toronto, ON
The Liberty Gate Project is a joint venture between AVA design studio (formerly KAVE Architects) and Seferian Design Group. Two 26 foot tall metal spiral sculptural installations create an entry court and focus on the main access point into the Liberty Village community. Their placement forms a landmark that is place generating. An assemblage of metal tubes made from stainless steel that is up light anchor both ends of a meandering natural garden comprised of indigenous planting which is sustainable and requires very little maintenance. Decorative metalwork screens, railing, and precast retaining walls complete the animated landscape and bring a level of artistry that reflects the business community and their urban objectives.
